Gardening Products: Our extensive compost and aggregates range covers everything you could need to improve your garden soil or enhance your its appearance.

With Gardening, like so much in life, you only get out what you put in. If you want to get fabulous results from your garden you need to start by getting the soil right. To help you in this quest we have some excellent products; pelleted chicken manure, stable manure and soil improver will all do your soil a world of good and bring on your plants a treat.

Alongside these products we have a specialist range of composts for specific areas; tree and shrub planting, tub and basket, potting, seed and cutting and ericaceous to name but a few. In short, compost for every type of plant and situation you can imagine, and if you want a compost that does everything pretty well then we sell a variety of multi purpose composts at good prices.

John Innes composts are also included in our range. These soil-based composts deserve to be more popular and have advantages over their peat based cousins. In periods of sustained dry weather they are easier to re-wet than their peat equivalents, they generally have a better balance of nutrients, particularly suited for hardy shrubs and because it is heavier than peat based compost it brings increased stability to container planting.

Chipping's and aggregates serve a dual purpose in the garden; they finish it off by making it look neat and tidy but at the same time conserve water and prevent weed growth. For this purpose we sell products such as chipped bark or more traditional aggregates such as pea shingle. In addition we do an extensive selection of decorative chippings in a dozen or so colours. Use them to top-dress a pot, make a path or simply spread on a border to impede weeds.
